Fitness & CBD
Before I say anything more, please, you need to stretch before and after any fitness session. It will help you forever if you put a 5 min stretching protocol (Legs, Arms, Neck) in place and apply it religiously.

How does CBD work against pain and inflammation?
CBD primarily interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, a grouping of millions of cannabinoid receptors found throughout your body. Almost every body organ, including your skin and digestive tract, contains cannabinoid receptors. The endocannabinoid system has four primary purposes: neuron protection, stress relief, immune response, and regulating the body's general state of balance, impacting faculties such as appetite, sleep, mood, and pain.
The Endocannabinoid System and CBD have recently become the subject of scientific research because of the potential for using the system's stimulation to treat disease. Your body produces cannabinoids through the endocannabinoids system. When introduced into the body, plant cannabinoids such as hemp CBD will stimulate the cannabinoid receptors and trigger the same therapeutic benefits as internally produced endocannabinoids.
I have been using Prehemptive CBD since 2015 (One of the first ;-) to help me with muscle spasms and contractions. For me, CBD help:
#1: REDUCING INFLAMMATION
Athletes' knees, tendonitis, periostitis, back pain, and sports can cause various injuries, and all of us use anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or aspirin. However, these medications negatively affect the gastrointestinal system and the kidneys. On the other hand, CBD is a plant-based anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, helping reduce inflammation and pain without the side effects of over-the-counter painkillers. I'm no doctor, but from what I read, Cannabidiol acts on glutamate production responsible for pain and anti-inflammatory cells. I'm not 100% sure what it means, but I can see/feel it's effective.
#2: REDUCED RECOVERY TIME
After a sports session, it's normal to feel aches and pains, whatever your sporting level. This wear and tear caused damage to the muscle fibers, ligaments, and tendons. The body must therefore eliminate the inflammatory substances and rebuild the damaged parts. CBD helps my muscles flush out the damaged cells, which alone helps regenerate the damaged parts more quickly. I can see my recovery time is optimized!
#3: SLEEP IMPROVEMENT
Indeed, CBD promotes sleep by regulating the circadian cycle, thus helping the body to relax better. I also realized that better sleep means better muscle recovery! Therefore, sleep quality is essential to recover well after a running session, and it is also a critical factor in naturally optimizing your sports performance.
CBD can be a great asset before a sporting competition, such as a half marathon. During training days, it helps me sleep better and recover well.
